Tuesday Night Crits Are Back at Tunney’s Pasture
Tuesday Night Crits are back for the season, bringing fast, fun, and supportive racing to Tunney’s Pasture from May 5 to August 25.
The series offers weekly racing with options for different experience levels, including dedicated women’s programming.
WHAT ARE TUESDAY NIGHT CRITS?
Tuesday Night Crits are weekly criterium style races held at Tunney’s Pasture in Ottawa. The series runs for 17 weeks, with alternating A and B race nights throughout the season.
The format is designed to support both experienced racers and riders who are still building confidence in group riding, cornering, positioning, and race tactics.
RACE CATEGORIES
WOMEN’S LEARN TO RACE
Select B race nights include a Women’s Learn to Race session before the main race.
These sessions are designed to help riders build confidence and learn key race skills, including drafting, cornering, positioning, and riding safely in a group.
Women’s Learn to Race runs at 6:30 PM on select nights. Riders may continue into the B Race afterward, which starts at 7:00 PM.

- July 7: A Race
- July 14: B Race + Women’s LTR
- July 21: A Race
- July 28: B Race + Women’s LTR

REGISTRATION
All riders must register before race day.
Registration closes Sunday at midnight before each race. There is no day-of registration.
Separate registration is available for Under 18 and 18+ riders.
Fees:
- Adult Series: $160
- Adult Single Race: $25
- U18 Series: $100
- U18 Single Race: $20
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
To participate, riders must hold one of the following:
- UCI/CCA license
- Ontario Cycling Challenge license
- Ontario Cycling Compete license
Quebec Citizen Permits are not accepted.
VOLUNTEERS
The series depends on volunteers to run safely.
Series riders are required to complete 2 marshal shifts. Riders entering single races will also be required to volunteer after 3 single-race entries. Volunteer marshals help with traffic control and course safety.
FIRST AID VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Certified First Aid responders are needed for each race night from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM.
One First Aid volunteer is needed per night. Volunteers receive a $25 Cyclery gift card per shift.
LOCATION AND TIMING
Tuesday Night Crits take place at Tunney’s Pasture on Eglantine Driveway in Ottawa.
Standard race start time is 6:30 PM.
On Women’s Learn to Race nights:
- Women’s LTR starts at 6:30 PM
- B Race starts at 7:00 PM
The course remains open to traffic, so all riders must follow marshal instructions at all times.
